Introduction to Curtis’ Music Blog

Hello everyone. My name is Curtis Clowar and this is my 3rd year at UAF with a major in mechanical engineering. I was born and raised on a little island in southeast Alaska called Prince of Wales. I graduated in 2017 from high school and decided to go to UAF. I won’t lie, college was intimidating for me because neither of my parents nor either set of grandparents had ever gone to college before. I was pioneering the way for my family for college education. I chose Mechanical Engineering because I have been taking things apart and fixing things since I was very young.

My relationship with music

I haven’t dated any music but if I did my type would be Indy folk and Indy rock. 🙂

For the longest time when I was young I wanted to whistle and could not. When I finally did it was the first time I could express what type of music I liked without embarrassing myself because of being self-conscious. I was always whistling around work became known for it. I always liked to express myself through music but was always to scared to sing in front of people or play my music out loud. But in the latter years I have become more confident in myself and have even sang in karaoke which went far better than I could have imagined. Other than that I don’t do much experience I haven’t learned an instrument but I want to one day.

Link to music that keeps me going.

  2. Hey Curtis! I feel like I was able to get to know you so much. I think we would get along very well! I like the dating joke about music that is very clever! Never be embarrassed by your music choices! That’s what makes music so great is that its an individual experience just as much as a group experience! I’m excited to hear more from you!
